Rolof Voss, assistant professor at TU Delft's Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, is working with a team of engineers to build the Flying V, as the name suggests, an unusual V-shaped aircraft intended to shaking airplanes. design with its innovative oval-shaped cabin.

"It was two years of stressful and intense work," he said. "Seeing it in the sky was worth all the hours." The test flight was the culmination of years of work and the moment the model took to the air was understandably emotional.
"Malcolm was emotional because the big fear after two years of work was that he would quit and collapse," Voss said. "But to see it take off and stay in the air meant our calculations were good enough for our first test flight and that was a relief."
The next step for Voss and Brown is to build a 13-meter replica drone for wind tunnel testing for handling, takeoff and landing dynamics, and noise.
